Terrible trailers come out every week. Predictable, loud, routine, derivative trailers have developed a language all their own, one that audiences are able to comprehend. And they’ve become a punchline just the same. This spot is one of the rare few that bucks the trend (for the most part) and it does it well. The sliding panels is a clever trick that adds anticipation into the fabric of the trailer. I know Ed Norton’s voice, now let me see his face, damnit. Good stuff. I don’t know that I need to go see this movie anymore than when I did before seeing the trailer, but at least it did something.

Tony Gilroy is great. Returning players Joan Allen and David Strathairn are great. Ed Norton is great. Jeremy Renner is sufficient. I am excited about this movie.

Resident Evil 6 Official Trailer
Yes, that says Resident Evil 6. It seems all these leaks and teasers were all actually true, go figure. Leon and Chris are both in a main RE title for the first time, and they are indeed slating it for a November 20, release of this year. It looks like Capcom is trying something new, but also giving what fans wanted for years: a return to originality. Let’s hope it stays this way. Check it out!
