Movie Trailer of the Day: First official trailer for the Luc Besson-produced sci-fi retelling of Escape from L.A., Lockout.

The film, which stars Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, and Guy Pearce as Snake Snow, is set to open in theaters April 20th.

Godspeed You! Black Mesa of the Day: Impressive and haunting mashup of Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s “The Dead Flag Blues” and in-game footage from Half-Life 2 that took Michael over 100 hours to compile. 

The goal of this project was to take the song “The Dead Flag Blues” and match it with striking imagery from the Half-Life 2 series to create a unique video that fans can enjoy. Call it a trailer, short, montage, music video, machinima, whatever you want, this my tribute to one the best game series around and everyone’s favorite hero. Oh, the band rules too.

First Look of the Day: Thirteen years later, Cowboy Bebop director Shinichirō Watanabe is reuniting with Cowboy Bebop composer Yoko Kanno for a brand new anime about “a naive boy and a scruffy boy [who] share a passion for jazz in a provincial town in the late 1960s.”

Based on Yūki Kodama’s same-named manga series, Sakamichi no Apollon is set to air this April on Fuji TV’s anime programming block, Noitamina.
